Gas prices Friday at about 8,000 gas stations nationwide averaged $1.12 a gallon for self-serve regular, analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday.

The weighted price per gallon for all grades and taxes was $1.15,up 3.27 cents from Dec. 21, the date of the last Lundberg Survey.

The weeks to come could see additional moderate price increases, Lundberg said.

FLORIDA Coast Guard boat hit;11 injured MIAMI -- A pleasure boat carrying 53 people crashed into a U.S. Coast Guard vessel Saturday night, injuring 11, including two Coast Guard sailors who were thrown overboard.

The 65-foot Bayside Blaster slammed into a 24-foot Coast Guard rescue boat just before 9 p.m. Saturday among a group of small islands near the Port of Miami, Petty Officer Gene Smith said. Two sailors on the Coast Guard boat were ejected and swam to shore, Smith said.

Theinjured sailors were taken to Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. One was treated for a knee injury and released,while the other was admitted and in stable condition after nearly drowning, hospital spokeswoman Lori Fagenholz said.

Nine passengers on the pleasure boat had minor injuries. The nature of their injuries wasn't immediately known.

No identities were immediately released, and the cause of the crash was being investigated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Coast Guard.

NEW YORK Owner to rebuild destroyed building NEW YORK -- The owner of one of the smaller buildings destroyed in the attack on the World Trade Center has picked a construction company and architectural firmto design and rebuild the structure, according to a published report.

The 47-story, 2-million- square-foot building called 7 World Trade Center caught fire and collapsed in the early evening of Sept. 11, hours after two hijacked planes destroyed the twin towers. A tentative groundbreaking has been set for Sept. 11, 2002, according to the report in Crain's New York Business, outtoday.

People close to the project told Crain's the date is tentative because building owner Larry Silverstein doesn't want to detract from memorial services expected to take place on the first anniversary of the attack.

Skidmore Owings & Merrill will design the new building and Tishman Construction Corp., which built the original 7 WTC, will build it. No one died in the collapse of 7 WTC, and because it was across the street from the other trade center buildings, reconstruction is not likely to be held up by the debate over what to build on the site of the twin towers.
