NetBank Makes Gift Giving Easy with Visa Gift Card; Cards Can Be Embossed with Recipient's Name and Personalized Message
ATLANTA -- NetBank, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTBK), a diversified financial services provider and parent company of NetBank(R) (www.netbank.com), today announced that it has begun offering Visa(R) gift cards through the NetBank website. The cards are available in amounts up to $1,000 and can be embossed with the recipient's name and a personalized message.
"The VISA gift card fits nicely with the product features our customers have told us they want," said Mark Resnick, retail segment director, NetBank. "It's convenient and easy to order, and the buyer can even customize the card with a personal message. For the recipient, the card provides the flexibility to use it anywhere Visa is accepted, and the freedom to choose how they spend it."
Unlike many retail gift cards, holders of the NetBank Visa gift card have the ability to make purchases online or over the phone, monitor their spending, and suspend the card if it's lost or stolen.
Gift cards continue to grow in popularity with consumers. According to Mercator Advisory Group, more than 78 million U.S. consumers purchased gift card products in 2003. NetBank plans to begin offering reloadable stored-value cards in 2005.
