Peoria restaurant gift certificate
Random Acts of Kindess -- Restaurant employee honors dinner deal
My wife and I had been given a gift certificate for dinner to Basta Mangiare Restaurant in Peoria. We live 70 miles from Peoria and when we went to redeem it we found the restaurant closed on Sunday.
We put the certificate in a drawer and let it slip our minds. When we found it, the expiration date had passed. I called the manager, whose name was Rachel. She said to come in anyway and she would be glad to honor it. (We were delighted because some restaurants will only give half value of a gift certificate, even though they've had the money over a year.)
We drove the 70 miles and not only did they honor it, they made the evening a most pleasant experience with wonderful food and service. Rachel certainly made our day.
