Federal grants awarded to four Canadian airports
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Under the Government of Canada's Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP), federal funding has been granted to Sudbury Airport; Toronto City Centre Airport; Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport; and Nakina Municipal Airport.
Sudbury Airport has been granted CAD1,127,000 for safety improvements. These include the replacement of the approach indicator and approach lighting systems and the purchase of one runway sweeper. Toronto City Airport will receive CAD165,600 and will also purchase a runway sweeper.
Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport has been granted federal funding of CAD1,466,461. The airport is planning to renovate the pavement of its main runway and replace its approach indicator systems. Federal funding of CAD545,460 has been awarded to Nakina Municipal Airport, which will renovate its runway and reconfigure the main air terminal building apron.
In total the ACAP has awarded CAD10.2m in federal funding for airport improvements at eight airports in Ontario.
