INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
A new broadband survey has been carried out in the UK by Internet communication company Tiscali UK Business Services and the Institute of Directors (IoD).
The results showed that almost half of all the companies questioned thought that the UK Government should provide more support for broadband adoption. Similarly, 90% believed that broadband was an important issue to business while 78% thought that a lack of local service was one of the main inhibitors to adoption.
Other results showed that 48% of all those asked believed that government grants or tax breaks would encourage more firms to adopt broadband and 38% thought that local councils should run 'try before you buy' broadband schemes.
The survey was carried out in December 2002 and polled visitors to the IoD web site at http://www.iod.com.
