PA Office of Homeland Security Releases Application for Non-Profit Organization Homeland Security Assistance Grants; Pursuant to Federal Guidelines, Funding
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- PA Office of Homeland Security Director Jonathan A. Duecker today announced the release of the application that will be used to select recipients of Non-Profit Organization Homeland Security Assistance Grants. A total of over $1.3 million is available for distribution.
"This funding is available to non-profit groups in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties to upgrade the physical security of their facilities and to be better prepared for a potential terrorist attack," said Duecker.
Under Fiscal Year 2005 Homeland Security Appropriations, $25 million of Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) funding is available to 501(c)(3) non-profits for specific high-threat, high-density, urban areas across the country.
Eligible non-profit organizations may submit applications to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), the State Administrative Agency for homeland security funding. Grants in amounts not to exceed $100,000 will be made to selected non-profit organizations. The deadline to apply for a grant is Feb. 28.
